Thunderbird 45.5.1 hangs up

Since update to 45.5.1 Thunderbird hangs up when I highlight a portion of an email in order to copy it. The "copy" works but then then the email from which I copied is frozen. I had to force-quit T'bird and restart it. My Mac is running El Capitan
