I'm running FF 53.0 (32-bit) on windows 10 64 [this has always worked best for me idk why] and I JUST updated to this recent FF version. At first, when running java scripts, I would get a TON of 5 second "firefox is not responding" freezes and this was annoying so I just restarted my computer and it was fine. However, now, when I try to switch tabs, the click closes them when I'm nowhere near the X. I couldn't tell you how often this happens, but pretty often. I'm checking to make sure it has nothing to do with my mouse, but I don't think it should.

any suggestions?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
