ui.click_hold_context_menus not working- Drop down menu- open in new window, new tab

Since Firefox update 50.0 the context drop down menus have not been working. They show up but they do not function. I tried to reset it with About:config- making it false then true again but it doesn't work, I need to be able to pull down the menu with one hand. Using the the control click while holding the link I can't do with one hand. This is the reason I use firefox. Please someone help figure out how to bring this function back. I have been using 49.x which still works but I can't sync anything without the updated version and now am having browser issues. I try each new release but none of them work. HELP!!

I notice that when I pull down a short drop down it sometimes works but if it drops down a long menu then it doesn't work, save image as doesn't work as well.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Let’s do a full clean re-install; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)

Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do Not remove the profiles folder.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

It still isn't working right. The big long drop down menu appears but nothing works on it and after I control click to open in a new window a smaller drop down opens instead like it used to, but still doesn't work when I click it on it, only works if I hold down the control button. Super frustrating because I use Firefox so I can work with one hand. Why is this happening!
