I've lost the option for viewing icons with text
I've lost the option for viewing icons with text. I recall seeing an option for this and icons only. Where did it go? It's nowhere in Customize, or can I find it in the Classic Theme Restorer.

With Classic Theme Restorer installed you can find this in the CTR Options/Preferences on page 1 of the Toolbars tab.
- CTR: Options/Preferences > Toolbars (1).

Can you please tell me what this is referring to?

Aha! Found it. Thanks.
You broke classic theme restorer, and now it seems impossible to get text instead of icons in toolbars. But I guess you only care about illiterate cell phone monkeys.

laurencehexamer Please note that you are not dealing with Mozilla here. You are dealing with volunteers who are fellow-users like yourself who are trying to help.
I know it isn't what you are after and I don't know how knowledgeable you are but do you know that you can save considerable space and get a bit of balance in the Bookmarks Toolbar by abbreviating names by right clicking on the Bookmark > Properties(at the bottom)>Name.
You can also create folders on the Toolbar by right clicking and in the folder you can put similar bookmarks with as much name as you wish. Also, make full use of the easily accessed spillover >> at the end Bookmarks Toolbar .
Yes, I know it isn't terribly convenient but you can always get the name of the icon on all toolbars by hovering over it.
I strongly reecommend that you start a new post, in polite language, as this one is being shown as solved.

When I said toolbar, I meant toolbar, not bookmarks. I want the little arrows and house and whirlygig icons replaced by text. That is the main thing Classic Theme Restorer was good for, and I' d like to get rid of the hamburger altogether.
Today Firefox somehow updated itself without my permission (I had not given it the auto option) - and I was FURIOUS to see that Classic Theme Restorer had been disabled. I had to use Windows System Restore to revert it, as Mozilla was obscure in how to revert to the previous version.
Firefox has gone from a great browser to a terrible one, in the way they have removed user options. There was abolutely NO reason to remove the options for browser.tabs.closebuttons, requiring an add-on (Classic Theme Restorer)... and now the add-on won't even work! I also LOATHE the way they want users to use icons only, without text, in the tool bar. My brain (and that of many others) reads text a lot faster than interpreting icons. I want to click a button called "Home", and not have to spend an extra second deciphering a picture of a house.
So - I refuse to update Firefox any further, until I can have my classic theme restored - whether via an add-on, or preferably by actually having the OPTIONS within the browser itself.
I understand that the replies here are from the community and not Mozilla - however could anyone point me in the direction for providing this feedback directly?
I agree with Eurosong in that I want to be able to see TEXT LABELS in my Firefox Toolbar icons. This should be a native feature AND NOT REQUIRE AN ADD-ON OR THEME RESTORER (never mind that when I go find "Classic Theme Restorer, that page say it is NOT COMPATIBLE with my version of Firefox (Quantum, the version it just updated me to WITHOUT MY HAVING ANY CHOICE IN THE MATTER). What the fuck? Is Mozilla TRYING to push users away? I AM OLD and I can't tell see very well, nor can I tell what half these icons mean! I NEED TEXT LABELS ON MY TOOLBAR! How do I get them back? ARE YOU LISTENING MOZILLA? HELLO MCFLY? (I want to find the Mozilla browser designer responsible for this and rap him on the head with my knuckles while I ask this question). The level of stupidity and shortsightedness displayed by Firefox in this matter is right up there with Microsoft doing away with the Start Menu in Windows! Yes, maybe you can find some third-party add-on that restores the feature BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!
