certificate error downloading firefox from download-sha1.cdn.mozilla.net
when downloading the EN-GB version of firefox from https://download-sha1.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/54.0.1/win32/en-GB/Firefox%20Setup%2054.0.1.exe I'm getting a certificate error
The owner of download-sha1.cdn.mozilla.net has configured their web site improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this web site.
This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.
download-sha1.cdn.mozilla.net uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure. Error code: SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED
tried internet exploder (to download and install firefox)and firefox and then got someone else to try safari through another isp

That seems like a glitch with this site's OS detection. Windows Server 2012 probably is more analogous to Windows 7 than to XP and Vista. When you're on that page, the "Editing Tools" section in the left column will show what OS is detected under "Customize this Article."

That server is unusable until a new certificate is installed.
But I'm not sure why you are getting directed to that server in the first place. Only XP and Vista users should need to use sha1-signed executables...
Did you start from here: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
No I didn't start from there. I wasn't able to find that link.
Support - Firefox - Install and Update - How to download and install firefox on windows scroll down to "systems & languages" link then from that page, select english - britsh
This is on a windows 2012 server
thanks for getting back to me, someone else told me it looked like it was for XP users

Looks like you were right. Firefox detects windows 8, and when I click through the links from there I get a different page and no error.
Internet Explorer pops up a bunch of errors saying content is being blockd to a number of url's by the internet explorer enhanced security configuration.
It also doesn't let me open up the section under "editing tools". When I add the sites into trusted sites in the security configuration, then it reports windows 8 and goes to a different download page without an error.
thanks for your help
Keep this for future reference https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ FTP site, find the version your looking for thenn open the folder then find the language. There will be no more certificate issues there.

Thanks, Imanaged to work around the problem but if I was running the site I would want to be the first to know that there were issues, that was my primary reason for posting.
I also found it helpful and informative to work out the problem with internet explorer. I usually only use it to download other browsers ;-)
