After I have opened more than one tab and I close Firefox, it's still active with blank page and 3 tabs.

When I open more than one tab in Firefox and then close Firefox, it is still active. I open it and I see a blank page, I try to close it and it says that there are 3 open tabs, do I want to close all of them. I answer "yes" and then Firefox is closed. Firefox has not earlier behaved like this, could there be a virus etc (I have some problems with Facebook).

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Do you use any tab-related add-ons? In the old days when Firefox supported a feature called tab groups, you sometimes would get messages like that, but Firefox no longer has built-in support for tab groups so... maybe an add-on?

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions that Firefox installs on its own are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious? If in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox before the change takes effect. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?

I refreshed Firefox as was advised in one of those articles in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no. And it looks like I have not that problem any more. Thank you.
