Which Firefox 52 version do you have installed?

The "Release" version of Firefox 52 doesn't support Silverlight. The only NPAPI Plugin that is supported is the Adobe Flash Player. Almost all web browsers have stopped supporting Plugins beyond Flash Player, and that will stop in 2019 or 2020. Everything should support HTML5 audio & video playback natively in the web browser by then; at least that is the plan.

The Extended Support Release version of Firefox 52 (ESR) does support NPAPI Plugins. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
