I would like some help fixing an image loading issue in firefox on a semi-bad connection.
So, for like a year now I've had this issue, where when there are too many images on a page and there's too much data flow, or the page takes too long to load, images on it stop loading instantly across all websites, as if firefox cuts all data to the internet when a page is taking too long or something and any image that was in the process of loading becomes permanently damaged with this half loaded state that you see in the attachment.
The only way to fix is to Ctrl F5 the page but then that creates the problem again as all images start loading and dataflow is too great to handle and I'll just get the white cutoffs again.
I need a way to solve this so it stops happening.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player or remove it using these links; Uninstall Flash Player | Windows {web link} Uninstall Flash Player | Mac {web link}
Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
Flash Player Version 32.0.0.207

What kind of connection are you using? Have your ISP check your service.

There is nothing that can be done about my net, there is no way to fix it, no way to upgrade, no way to make it faster or handle more connections at the same time.
It is my phone's 4G LTE 2-3 bars out of 5 at the edge of the network range almost forwarded via PDANet to my laptop. There are no other service options out here, all the other options are scams. AKA Dialup for $40/m or fake high speed DSL for $40/m or limited satellite for $120/m.
I need to solve the browser issue so websites stop timing out my data and stop breaking images half way though. God I miss the old days when images used to fail to load and present with that blank spot with an error icon in the corner of the image and all you had to do was refresh the page to get the missing images.
I also hate that Mozilla refuses to add dark mode to their website and blocked Dark Reader from the site, this page is burning the fk out of my eyes right now very badly and its extremely painful to look at this page. Thanks Mozilla~ </sarcasm>

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player
I realize flash is out of date, its also going to end in 2020 forever, so that'll be nice. I don't use flash anywhere that might be a security issue, in fact I only ever open it once or twice on one specific website, and I leave it at the option that makes me click "yes, run flash this time" and never allow it to always run. So I don't worry about this particular issue because I don't let flash run on any websites I don't trust. I hope its abolished from the internet soon and no one anywhere can install or use it forcing companies to move on to other things.

Check with an electronic store. Maybe you can get some kind of booster or better antenna.
So, your solution is "get better internet"... How did you become a top 10 contributor?
I'm trying to find a way to have Firefox limit the data flow so that I can get all of the data, rather than it trying to download 10+ images simultaneously and ultimately failing.
And you just tell me to get better internet.
I am not responsible for the problem. And being rude will not help.
Are the images something you need? If not, you could block the images as they are the cause.
Did you try the context menu for a "Reload Image" item ?
You may also be able to reload failed images via the Network Monitor.

But you aren't answering the problem either, you're just telling me to get better internet. Surely somewhere there is a setting that lets me slow down the amount of content that the browser will load simultaneously.

No, I just like the images cause they are pretty and add design to the page, I mean, why would I need images about a game that I'm thinking of buying? Screenshots of products I want to get are overrated~ </sarcasm>
And now you're just telling me to stop loading images all together, how nice. Very helpful~ </moresarcasm>

I did try to reload images, it doesn't always work. Sometimes it will. However, the point is that I want to slow down content loading so that more images will be successful. I want to limit the browser from trying to download 10 images simultaneously, maybe down to 2. I remember seeing a setting like this once when I used a tool in AVG to optimize my browser for my connection speed, however that was an auto optimization tool. I just don't know what setting to look for where. I tried "images" in about:config but didn't see anything about how many could load at once.
God I wish Mozilla would make a dark mode for this site, my eyes hurt really bad now.
There are network.http.max prefs to control some connection settings.

Strange, why is the default 900 on connections? This doesn't make sense. I don't have 900 images try to load at one time, it looks more like 10 or so try to load at one time. Is there any specific pref that deals with how many images are allowed to try to load at one time?
network.http.max-connections is about all connections that are currently open and this includes connections used by other tabs and internally used connections. Only if you are in an environment that has limited (low bandwidth) internet access would it make sense to adjust this number.
So there is no options at all, to slow down the amount of media that can load simultaneously?
I notice if I load a page with 60+ images, only 10 can load at one time. What setting sets this? Is it a setting? Is it hard coded into the browser? Is there nothing here I can change to set a lower threshold on the amount of images that can start loading at one particular time?
Having an active connection doesn't cause problems really, like 30 open chats is nothing, its the higher data usage things like trying to download a 15MB gif because valve won't stop store owners from filling their pages with gifs anymore, or tying to download ten-twenty 1MB images at once because loading a store page also starts loading all of the screenshots at once. Thats what I wish to slow down. Not max the amount of current connections, I want to limit how many media objects can be loaded at one time.
I could swear this -used- to be an option. Hell, way back when images failed it turned into that broken image icon and instead of loading half an image and turning the rest white, it became a semi-transparent outline with that broken image icon which could then be right clicked and tried again or would retry next page load. Now it caches this, half loaded white image and gets stuck there and no, don't suggest Ctrl F5, thats like starting the same failure over and over again and no, don't suggest I open each and every single failed thumbnail or image one by one to force reset each one, because thats just dumb.
