The automatic Update to Firefox 77.0.1 combined with Webroot jumping in with an add-on (not invited) just destroyed my Firefox.
If I have deleted my old account on 6/11/20 and created a new one with the same name on 6/11/20, is there any way to get my 6/09/20 bookmark and password info back? I lost all bookmarks and all passwords. There appeared no way to eliminate, "Your browser is being controlled by your organization". I followed the "regedit" advice, etc. Since I NEVER use Firefox on any other device than this Win 10 desktop, I did not have Sync and never needed a "master password". I tried to follow the HELP-Troubleshoot-Revert to older Firefox-Key3.db- then Update - advice - etc. I could not make that work. Eventually I just downloaded the new version again and now have nothing except a copy of the old Key3 and Key4. from the HELP - troubleshoot exercise. I do not have bookmark copies. I never knew that I had an account or an account -- password - which is apparently the item that holds the bookmarks and passwords in Firefox. My question is: could I get my info back if I have only a deleted account name to work with? ( And deleted it plus created a new one of the same name today.)

You would need logins.json that actually stores the passwords in addition to the key file (normally key4.db, but a matching key3.db might work).
Did you remove the entire profile folder, because normally you should still have your personal data ?
d you check the Windows Recycle bin ?
You can check if you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop in case the Refresh feature in Firefox has been used and a new profile has been created.
The "Your browser is being controlled by your organization" warning is possibly caused by security software that tries to inject its root certificate in Firefox to be able to act as a man-in-the-middle and intercept your internet traffic.
You can inspect the Mozilla and Firefox keys with the Windows Registry Editor in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and possibly in HKEY_CURRENT_USER with the Windows Registry Editor to see whether GPO policy rules are active.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox\
Note that the mere presence of the "Mozilla\Firefox\" key is sufficient to make Firefox display this notification, so if you have the Firefox key then remove it and only leave the Mozilla key or remove this key as well if it is empty.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox\ =>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\
