Outbox - can't seem to delete it.
i like to use a Outbox that requires a 'send' prior to delivering my messages, so created one. i see it does not work like other programs do/did, and now i cannot get rid of it.
Any way to delete it?

You do not need to create one because Thunderbird already has an 'Outbox' folder. It is located in the 'Local Folders' mail account and is used by all the mail accounts.
If you are creating an email and have not finished it, you save as a draft and it goes to the 'Drafts' folder. Later you can access 'Drafts' folder and choose to Edit the draft.
When you create an email and it is ready to send, but you do not want to send it just yet, you use 'Send Later' option instead of 'Send' (which 'Sends now'). Note: if you in 'offline' mode - the 'Send Later' button will auto replace the 'Send' button.
This will put the email in the 'Outbox' ready for sending. When you want to send all the emails in the 'Outbox', you right click on 'Outbox' folder and select 'Send unsent messages' and all emails in 'Outbox' are then sent.

I presume you created this 'Outbox' folder in an imap mail account, so by now you have put that folder onto the server as well. 1. Unsubscribe from seeing the 'Outbox' you created. Right click on imap maila ccountname and select 'Subscribe' select 'Outbox' folder in list and click on 'Unsubscribe' click on OK
2. Check it is removed from your profile. Help > Troubleshooting Information Under 'Application Basics' - about 8th inlist is 'Profile Folder' - click on 'Open Folder' A new window opens showing the contents of your 'profile name' folder. Exit Thunderbird now. Click on 'ImapMail' folder Click on the imap account name folder Look for and delete 'outbox' files, you may have an mbox file called outbox - it has no extension and also an index file eg: outbox.msf.
3. Remove folder from webmail account Then logon to your webmail account using a browser. delete the 'outbox' folder which you created.
Restart Thunderbird.

Thanks for the in-depth reply. i understand your instructions on how to send later/all at once. Thank-you.
Re: "I presume you created this 'Outbox' folder in an imap mail account, so by now you have put that folder onto the server as well. " Unfortunately, it is a bit over my head. To confirm, i created it within Thunderbird. Not sure how to deal with the rest, but thank-you. i will tinker with it and see if i can figure out what your instructions suggest.
Thanks again. Thomas.
