Desktop passwords do not sync with Android.

more options

I've searched and read several "fixes" for this problem, but they either don't make sense, are old, or don't work.

I have enabled sync on both devices. I have selected logins to be synced on both devices. I am not using primary password on either device. Still, I cannot get my passwords to show up in my android device.

Please help and keep it simple, because some of the answers elsewhere made no sense to me. I apparently need very small words to understand.

Thank you, Seburo. I had already tried that.

What *finally* worked, for me, was to uninstall on the desktop and the android device, then re-install on Android first. Why did that work? I have no clue. Maybe it'll be helpful to someone else. :P

Hi

I understand that Firefox Sync did not connect to your mobile device on this occasion, but hopefully I should be able to help you force a Sync event to take place.

Assuming you have connected the same Sync account on both your mobile and desktop copies of Firefox:

In Firefox on your mobile device:

  1. Go into the Settings menu and select Firefox Account.
  2. Tap on Synchronise now.

This will “force” a synchronisation of the data that is on the local device storage.

Hi! Michael, I had the same issue. I uses an Android 12 mobile device and Apple Mac book Air. I was facing issue in 'Login & Passwords' synchronization. What I did is as follows:

1. I opened Firefox browser window in my Desktop 2. Navigate to URL: 'about:sync-log' for checking Synchronization logs 3. Checked the latest 'error-sync' text file 4. Found that there is issue in account sign in: 'Background refresh of profile failed' in 'Errors' under 'FirefoxAccounts' 5. I signed out of my Mobile device 6. I disabled my 2-Factor Authentication 7. I removed (sign out) all previously logged in services from 'Firefox Accounts' -> 'Settings' -> 'Connected Services' 8. I only kept my current service i.e. login at my Desktop Firefox account. Clicked Sync Now after all this 9. Now connected mobile device to this account and synced account through mobile browser account

After above steps, I got a smooth sync of all my stuff between mobile browser and Desktop browser including bookmarks, passwords, tabs, etc.

I have the same sync problem with passwords only. I logged out of firefox android then using the qr code from firefox desktop I logged back into android however same issue. When I look thorough the settings in android there is no checkbox to sync passwords. FF desktop has the option to sync passwords but android doesn't. I'm using FF 101.2.0 for android.

This is not a solution. Uninstall apps every time when sync is needed is not a viable solution.

This is a bug. Please investigate and fix it. Otherwise Passwords feature is not usable.

Please unmark the quoted message as a solution.

I can confirm. Just bought a new phone and I installed Firefox on it, tried synching the account a day later and did not work, for logins at least. Then removed Firefox, installed it again and during the setup phase I used the QR-login. Now my desktop logins are on my mobile device also. THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW.
