firefox browser occasionally downloads unknown htm files
Firefox browser occasionally downloads unknown htm files with 0KB size. If I open the file, what I see is just an empty file opened in firefox browser. I have absolutely no idea why this is happening or in what situation this happens. Has anyone heard of or solved this kind of situation before?

Getting zero-byte .htm files can be caused by downloading a file over an insecure HTTP link from a secure HTTPS page (i.e. mixed content is on the page) or by Firefox sending a HTTP background request in HTTPS-Only mode and "dom.block_download_insecure = true" You can try:
- about:config => dom.security.https_only_mode_send_http_background_request => false
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. On the warning page, you can click "Accept the Risk and Continue"to open about:config.

Appreciate for your answer, I'll take a look if the problem occurs again or not.
Unfortunately, the answer above couldn't solve the problem...
Dude, same thing has been happening to me for past week, since last update that happened on 23th.
I googled this problem, and it has been happening to people during last 6 months, so we are not only ones. It is pretty rare. Conclusion that this people made has been that it is a Firefox bug.
Do you by any chance got logged out of most websites as well? This happened to me today, about 2 hours ago. Not sure if a bug a virus, but couple of programs that I used have not found anything.
