After update to 102.5.0 (from 91.13.1) all saved Search Folders are gone
Hi community,
When a Search Folder is saved (i.e. "Search messages, Save as Search Folder"), it used to be saved as an *.msf file (in the profile map/subfolder per account).
After update to 102.5.0 (from 91.13.1) all my saved Search Folders are gone in the UI. "Hard" folders are stil there. No other issues sofar.
So what's wrong? All my (many) *.msf files saved Search Folder are still available in the usual location, but probably not read by Thunderbird and not offered in the UI.
When i create a test Search Folder TEST, if appears as TEST.msf. After stopping Thunderbird, deleting the msf by hand, and restarting, TEST Search Folder is still available in the UI and the TEST.msf is re-created.
So, it seems that the Search Folders are stored somewhere else and the msf files re-created from this presumed other storage.
Also is seems that in my case, during the update, this presumed other storage was not populated with my Search Folder from the msf files, resulting in no Search Folder in the UI.
Can anyone help me out?

No. That user reported: (1) My saved-search folders are non-functional -- just blank lines. (2) Even the Saved Search item on the File>New menu is completely absent. So I also can't create new ones.
In my case there are (1) simply no Search Folders (so no blank lines) and (2) there is no issue creating new saves Search Folders. (Pls. also refer to my first post describing creating a TEST Search Folder with no issues).

After some digging it turns out that Search Folders are kept in VirtualFolders.dat (profile folder). Indeed this was empty after the upgrade.
Every Search Folder also has a corresponding .msf, also containing the Seacrch Folder details, but not clear what it's purpose is.
Anyhow, the solution seems to be to restore a backup of VirtualFolders.dat
FYI, if you click on a saved search, then yes, it is not listed in File > New https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465012
