Hi!

I was wondering if it is possible to disable html when adding a description to a calendar event and just use plain text instead. I use many other email tools to sync my google calendar to and every time I add or edit a description to an event I have in my calendar with Thunderbird it messes up the whole description. When I then look up the description on my phone it just displays me all the html tags that got added by Thunderbird.

Would be very usefull to be able to deactivate this feature! Or maybe someone can point me to the correct setting to disable it completely!

Thanks for your help!

A similar issue was posted in the google help forums. Are you aware that Google also adds html to notes.

I have done some digging around to see if something is in the pipeline. I did locate a bug report which mentioned Events and the option to have plain text for the notes/descriptions. There seems to be a plan to get this introduced for version 115 which is due next year, but no idea of any date at the moment.

Hi! It seems to me that the calendar app on the iPhone needs an update from Apple anyways. In the meantime I look forward for the plain text option to be implemented into thunderbird some time soon.

Thanks a lot for your answer!
