Other browsers have the frame update within itself, while firefox seems to never fully loads the image before a new image tries to overwrite it?

That webcam from your link works for me, and I am using the same versions of Mac OS and Firefox as you are. The webcam image from http://www.mallorysquarecondos.com/view-the-lake/ is not animated, whereas the first one is.
