I need to access a website that is not Netscape compatible. Where can I get a Firefox add-in that emulates Internet Explorer?
Need software that makes Firefox act like Microsoft Internet Explorer so that I can get into a website that will not interact properly with Netscape, which is apparently used by Firefox.

The following Add-on uses the Internet Explorer installed on your system to display a page in an IE tab in Firefox. There are several Add-ons to perform that function, but I have had the most success with the following:

Not related to your question, but...
You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:
- Plug-in check: https://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
- Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in: Installing (or Updating) the Shockwave plugin with Firefox
- Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape: Installing/Updating Adobe Reader in Firefox
- Shockwave Flash (Adobe Flash or Flash): Updating Flash in Firefox
- Next Generation Java Plug-in for Mozilla browsers: Installing or Updating Java in Firefox
I downloaded the suggested add-on, installed it, and restarted Firefox, but the new tab did not appear anywhere on the home page. Could it be hidden somewhere? Where should I expect to find it?
As with any Add-on, always set the options; Add-ons > Extensions > IE Tab Plus > Options
- on "UI Prefs" tab, I have all items checked, except the three "Icon" items
- Note: you may need to drag icons to a toolbar or to the Add-on bar (bottom of browser window) from the Customize Toolbar window, if they do not appear.
- Open Customize Toolbar window, on of the following ways
- click Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout
- click File > Toolbars > Customize, if using the Menu Bar
- right-click in the blank space at the end of the tab bar and choose Customize
- See --> How do I customize toolbars?
- Check the other option tabs for the Add-on
- Click on the icon to open a tab with the IE rendering engine
- To access on Tools menu, press the ALT key or the F10 key to temporarily display the Menu Bar and click Tools > then the IE Tab item
- Set sites that you want to open in an IE tab on the Add-ons options display *NOTE: IE Tab will not work in Private Browsing.
- open a blank tab first or it will overwrite your current tab.
