Audio crackles when viewing videos in Firefox 13.0, works perflectly in IE

more options

Ever since I updated to FF13, the audio streaming does not work correctly. I can view the video, so that's not a problem. But, the sound comes out crackling so it's impossible to listen. I tested the drivers and they are all okay. So... I tried to view the same content on IE and voila, it works perfectly. Therefore, the issue is with the new FF update something isn't working correctly. Any ideas how to fix this issue. I don't want to leave FF everytime I want to view a video.

You can check the volume of the sound in the volume mixer to make sure that it isn't set too high.

You can try to do some troubleshooting steps:

There's nothing wrong with the audio - it simply doesn't work on FF. I can view the video/tv just fine - I just can't listen to anything since the audio quality is terrible. Works perfectly on IE. Works perfectly in Google Chrome. The issue is with FF. If I can't fix the issue, will need to switch to a new browser.

I have the exact same problem. I discovered it has something to do with the Flash player. I disabled Shockwave Flash 11.3.300.257 and then my audio worked fine again.

So it has something to do with the interaction of FF 13.0.1 and Flash 11.3.300.257

I went to adobe's site and downloaded this version of the flash player and it still seems to work, so hopefully that solves it:

Adobe has released an updated Flash 11.3.300.262 version for Windows.

You can find the latest Flash player for Firefox on this page.

Flash Player 11.3.300.262 does not fix this problem. The only way I was able to fix it was to install an older version of the flash player. You can download older versions here:

I installed version 10.3.183.20 and it seems to be working fine.
