I have the same problem as above with some modifications. I can use the Basic Version of AOL in Firefox, IE 9, and Apple Safari. I cannot use the Standard Version of AOL in either Firefox or IE9, bit I can use it in Apple Safari. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate and have 4G of RAM. I have downloaded no new programs within the last several weeks but have done several Windows' Updates.

tried each way u suggested and nothing. the screen says Slow Connection? Use the Basic Version If your mail does not load, you can use the Basic version of AOL Mail here.and then takes forever to load and i end up clicking on basic version once i open aol this appears on the top of the mail You're using Basic Mail which is optimized for your computer and browser. Switch to Standard Version.

Encountering same problem just within the last day when Firefox installed an update. AOL pulls up fine but AOL mail will not load in Standard format, only Basic format works. Tried suggestions above and did not work.

I started this post several days ago. I tried the suggestions and nothing made the standard version of AOL work. I then figured I would work on the Firefox Settings that is reached by clicking on the upper left of the screen in the Firefox logo. I right clicked and then right clicked on "Options" and right clicked "Restart in Safe Mode." Firefox quickly rebooted and the Standard Version of AOL loaded and worked fine. This should provide a good temproary solution until Firefox gets their act together and figures what is causing the problem.

Hi! I am a Google Chrome user and I just wanted to let you know that I am having the same issue your having with Firefox on my Google Chrome! Aol mail worked for the year I've had chrome and all of the sudden yest 12-5-12 it wouldn't load and still won't. It had be getting a bit slow on loading now and then but now it just says its loading and never actually finishes. It gets stuck. I haven't found any answers yet, but it's interesting that FIrefox users are having the same problem. Maybe it's Chrome and Firefox or maybe it's AOL... just so it gets fixed soon!!  :) Internet Explorer still works fine for me so I'm just using that for now. If this is AOL's way of getting people to download their software.. well, it's just absurd!! LOL

I cannot even get a menu by right clicking on the Firefox icon. I just get the "restore/minimize/maximize options". No Menu with "options" to "restart in safe mode".

Better reset your Firefox and check it out...

I have the very exact same issues as you all do.

Has ANYONE received a solution to this issue? I have tried everything: removed add-ons, delete/add flashplayer, the reload, cleared cache/cookies.... I have not found anything, and this is a real problem.

Has anyone tried Resetting Firefox? Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Here's what worked for me. In Firefox, go to your menu bar. Click on "Tools". Then click on "Add-ons". A list of add-ons will come up. What I did was disable or remove any that I didn't recognize. I went back to load AOL and it worked and has since with no trouble. In fact, it works faster. Hope this helps.

I tried this and actually only had two add on's (unless I am missing something in terms of where I am searching). AOL mail still won't load. Over two months now. Think I am giving up on this.

This worked for me: click on "tools" - then click on "add-on's " then click on "extensions" - the extension "SAVEAS 2" - disable it - this cleared up my problem and AOL is now loading as standard speed - hope this works

Same problem. I disabled extension "Freecorder 7.0.0.12" (Tools -> Add Ons -> Extensions) and then AOL Mail worked as before (ie, not Basic Version).
