I am developing a multi-lingual website, and I have found that Firefox will not accept url's that begin with 'de/die' - in my case, I have '/de/die-villa/' and '/de/dienstleistungen/'.

The links are correct in the web page, but when I click on the links in Firefox the server receives a request for '/?/de/die-villa/' and '/?/de/dienstleistungen/'.

Strangely, the link '/nl/diensten/' works ok, so it seems to be the '/de/die.../' combination that causes a problem.

I have tested the links with Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome 23 and Opera 12, and none of the other browsers have a problem with it.

I have tried restarting Firefox in Safe Mode, but the result is the same.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Do you already have a test page online, so we can test this?

Are you using JavaScript to generate the links?
