URL address is not showing in the address bar
Since few days I have noticed in the address bar where it show such as https://yahoo.com is not showing but it says "search or enter address". However it open the desired web as in this case yahoo.com. So far, some time address appears and some time not.
Any advice or help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
To Enable SafeMode
- You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
- Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox"; Linux: "Firefox/File > Quit")

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Hello Jaya Kumars,
Thank you for the detailed reply. I ran Firefox in safe mode and it worked fine. Then in normal mode as per my doubt I disabled Ghostery and restart Firefox. I have noticed after few attempts Firefox is showing url link.
Screen shot added for reference.
I am not sure if Firefox will work fine or not lets see.
Thank you
Its your Addon issue.
Check your Addons are updated!, Remove unwanted addons
Hi, You are always very helpful. Is it bad to have disabled add-ons or must remove them? Thank you.
Thanks..
No need to remove disabled addons.
Try to disable one by one addon and check, which addon is making this issues..
Before that, check all the addons are updated.!
I found that the addon that was giving me the problem of the URL not showing was "LOGITECH SETPOINT 6.5"
I was having another problem on another PC and I updated the Logitech s/w on this PC also. In doing so this addon was added as I did not have it before. I have disable it.
