When I use the search option to find old emails, it shows only emails received over one month ago, not the most recent emails from that email address

How are you searching? There are 3 methods: Quick Filter Bar (Ctrl-Shift-K) searches by folder, Edit(or AppMenu)/Find/Search Messages searches by account, and the Global Search (Ctrl-K) searches all accounts. If the problem occurs with Global Search, it may help to rebuild the database:
