The interface you see in Firefox 29 is a major re-design (first one since Firefox 4) of Firefox's user interface called "Australis."

Here are a few suggestions for restoring the old design. I hope you’ll find one that works for you:

rather than installing yet more extensions to restore, once again, functionality that the moz devs, in their infinite wisdom, saw fit to remove, i think i'll look for a better alternative, as apparently allot of others are doing at this moment

here's some good reading that provides some perspective on the stupidity of the firefox (aka chrome wanna-be) v29 bubble-gum UI

for the first time since the FF beta days, i'm regretting the fact that i donated to mozilla

this childish version war nonsense with chrome is bad enough, but now i'm forced to use something that looks more and more like chrome with each release?

oh, that's right, i can easily spend hours tweaking and editing .css files and installing yet more extensions in an attempt to get something i want - what possible reason do i have to complain???

I understand your frustration and surprise at the removal of these features but I can't undo these changes. I'm just a support volunteer and I do not work for Mozilla so getting angry with me won't do any good. But you can send any feedback about these changes to http://input.mozilla.org/feedback. Firefox developers collect data submitted through there then present it at the weekly Firefox meeting.

i came here, not looking for support at all, but rather just to voice my frustration at the idiotic changes pushed out upon a very obviously (according to the stats) displeased bunch of campers

it is becoming clear that mozilla is yet another corporation with the typical corporate mentality and typical corporate goals - this was made clear to me the moment they partnered with google

Thanks. I think I'm going to mitigate the risk by using another browser. Since you've decided to copy Chrome, I get the stupid Chrome look-and-feel either way, so Chrome it is.

Where they ceremonially burn them in the wastebasket? Because they certainly don't take them to heart or act on them. If they did, bug fixes would be their #1 priority, not jacking around with the UI.

That is the most idiotic response I've ever heard. NO ONE is objecting to the security and compatibility updates. Those are necessary. However, changing the ENTIRE FREAKIN DESIGN is not, and should not be thrown in without the person knowing their entire browser is going to change with what appears to be a standard security update.
