TB 24.5.0-- Thunderbird Update wiped my tabs

Since the last update of TB to 24.5.0, I lost my tabs for three important messages.

1. How do I recover the missing, original message tabs?

2. Where is a tab history kept?

3. Under Tools, I can "Clear Recent History" but why is there no menu access to the history, itself?

Running Windows XP Pro, 32bit, SP3, with 6gb RAM

there is no "tab history". There is a session state JSON file that programs like CCleaner deletes that holds the information on the tabs and the reading pane etc. Once it is gone it is gone.

Why not just open the tabs again?
