For some unknown reason all `e-mail' messages come into inbox but most are then directed to the deleted box automatically, how can I stop this?

common causes of this are;


  • IMAP account where the mail has been delivered to another device and deleted there, so Thunderbird synchronises to that state
  • Anti Virus program with anti SPAM components that just does work very well, solution is to turn off the spam tool.
