Me and my daughter are using the same desktop. when she was logged into Facebook, she could not log out. I then cleared the Recent History and since then, I can't post or like anything in Facebook. My daughter can't also access her Yahoo account.

Hi Rens1010, I understand that after clearing recent history in Firefox that you have not been able to post or like in Facebook and your daughter has not been able to access a yahoo account.

It is possible that there were some cookies cleared that would require a new login session to access those sites. To determine if this is the issue, it is possible to go to a new private window and sign into either account and login again to get it working again.

more options

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
