When using virtual identity, to overtype my default "From" email address my sent email copies get sent to the "Local Folders" rather than the correct Account Sent Folder.

I have checked my account settings and they are set correctly (Tools->Accounts Setting->Account->Copies & Folders

Looking into "Identities" I have only one identity set up for this account, which, upon checking, has the correct Copies & Folders.

I am assuming that because I am using an email address which doesn't match the email address for the single identity stored somewhere Thunderbird is defaulting back to "Local Folders"

Can any tell me how I can set the fallback sent folders that Thunderbird uses if it can't match an identity to the IMAP account folder rather than the "Local Folders"

I've had a look and a play with some of the settings in the config editor (search for 'sent'), but it seems that when I change the references in there from nobody@Local%20Folders/sent to nobody@Account/sent I don't save any copies of my sent messages

This was working until a few weeks ago, I guess when I updated TB

TB Version: 38.0.1 Virtual Identity Version: 0.9.32

Thanks, Stephen

I never got a response back from the Virtual Identity developer.

However, I did find a solution.

Going into the config editor and re-setting all the values found with the search pattern sent and then deleting the account in question, restarting thunderbird and then adding the account back.

I then went into the config editor again and searched for "sent"

I then found the correct setting in the mail.identity.X.fcc_folder for the account, and copied that value into the mail.identity.defaut.fcc_folder

All now works correctly.

I suggest you send an email to the product author seeking assistance with it.

The security certificate for the web sire has expired, they no longer use addons.mozilla, org (This may become compulsory in the future. I will be for Firefox at least Web site https://www.absorb.it/virtual-id

The site suggests for support "ticket system temporarily disabled because of spam, please write some email to (just at absorb dot it) instead"

Thanks for the reply Matt.

I will do as you suggest.

However I suspect the problem lies with Identities in TB and not with Virtual Identity, but I could be wrong.
