When I download a file (it doesn't matter what file or where I download it from) & then cancel the download or I complete the download & Firefox stops working (for whatever reason), the next time I open Firefox it keeps trying to download that file. It also keeps trying to download the file for ever & ever. No matter whether I cancel the download, download the file again, Kill the popup window or anything else I've tried. I CANNOT figure out how to make it stop trying to download that file, EXCEPT to uninstall Firefox!

PLEASE help This is driving me nuts & it is happening on several of my computers. I have the latest version of Firefox currently installed & it still happens.

Thank you in advance for ANY help I can get on this.

Do you see that download in the Downloads Manager (Tools > Downloads or Show All Downloads)?

You can also try to remove the sessionstore.js file while Firefox is closed in case Firefox tries to open a page that downloads this file.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
