How can I export folders, contacts, etc. to Outlook Express?
Under 'Events and Tasks' there's Import and Export (and publish) functions. Under 'Tools' there's only Import. I Migrated from Outlook Express (OE) to T-bird bringing all folders, addresses, etc. in one pass. I've added more folders, etc in T-bird. I now need to migrate all T-bird folders, etc. back to OE. Trying to use 'Export' under Events and Tasks doesn't do anything, i.e. no new window or menu, etc. comes. It's like a NOP instruction. What do I need to do? Thanks.

re :Events and Tasks doesn't do anything This is to do with Lightning.
Exporting address books: Any address book (Not 'All Address Books' - this is not a real address book) can be exported as .csv file.
- Click on 'Address Book'
- select an address book
- 'Tools' > 'Export'
- choose where to export the file
- give suitable filename
- Save as type; comma seaparated .csv file.
- click on Save.

re: I now need to migrate all T-bird folders, etc. back to OE.
Seems a lot of effort to use a very old no longer supported email client. So there will not be any updates to keep up security or latest protocols etc. I know OE was a really nice little email client, but the last version was 15 years ago.
I would strongly recommend you read all of this article before you decide to use something that old with known issues that have not been resolved.
Method of using a converter of mbox files: You would need to access your Profile folder in Thunderbird.
Make a copy of Profile folder, so you are not working on the original. You would need to locate all the mbox file (they have no extension) then use a suitable conversion product to be able to get those messages into the correct format for OE. Googled useful info: http://email.about.com/od/mozillathunderbirdtips/qt/et_export_to_oe.htm
Another option would be to save emails as eml files 'Ctrl' + 'A' will highligh all emails in that folder. Right click on highlighted emails and select 'Save as' choose the suitable folderfor storage and click on 'Select Folder' button. This will export all highlighted emails as separate .eml files which can be imported into OE.
