I have recently moved from both Internet Explorer and Chrome to Firefox and have found that a site that was secure on those other browsers is NOT secure on Firefox and I'm curious as to why that is and what it means for my continual use of this site.

Oh no, not foolish at all and I understand your curiosity regarding my clicking on the 'i'. I was expecting the usual padlock symbol that presents itself on the address bar alongside the http:// and when I saw the little 'i' in it's place I clicked on it to find out what was going wrong with the site.

Thank you for your response, I did contact the game owner and he assured me of the same thing so all is well. I figure it is always best to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to these things though.

Hi   !
Apart from the fact that that site gave me the creeps   (heeheehee):
What message do you get that says the site is not secure   ?

The http part of the url disappears and the little information symbol in the address bar says "Connection is not secure" when you click on it.

That little information symbol,   does that look like a triangle,   and if so,   is it partly covering the green padlock   ?

No, it's not a triangle, nor is there a padlock. See image for symbol and "Not secure" message. And yes, I shall contact the owner when he returns, I was just curious about opinions here as it only seems to be a problem with Firefox.

Thank you for the responses!

hi, that hint will be shown for every site that is just loaded unencrypted through "http://"...

It was foolish of me to ask you about a triangle or a padlock;   but it just never occured to me that you clicked on the   'i' - icon;   mere curiosity:   why did you click on it   ?
As   philipp   says:   every site that is loaded unencrypted through   'http://'  will show that   'Connection is not secure'   -   absolutely nothing to worry about as long as you don't share personal/sensitive information on that site.
When you   do   share personal/sensitive information,   you'd better make sure the   URL   of that site starts with:   'https://',  (the   's'   stands for:   'security').
