I downloaded the new version and now it when I try to use the browser, it locks up when I try to go to anywhere. It locks up my total system and the only way out is to control/alt/delete.

I most cases yes and well, in others not so much. If the Motherboard is old and never had it's drivers updated and gotten Bios Flashes when were available and Video Card Drivers updated to always current, lots of ram then yes. If answer no then is a try to : So update your video card drivers. I have no info as you have unticked send info to Firefox and I would have returned this with that information.

In other words if you kept your car working & repaired, changed the oil, washed, waxed then probably.
