I have a mac, I entered a contest and how I keep getting messages to sign up for more free things, howcanIgetthisto stop
I have a MacBook Air. I use Firefox. I have blocked pop up ads on my computer. I entered a contest for a free planet. There were several questions I had to answer. They wanted me to buy something at the end and I did not. Now I keep getting messages on the upper right sideof my tool bar that rings a bell and then a message with the firefox flashes across and leaves. How do I turn this off?

Did they install anything?
I don't know. It all started after I entered the contest.
You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Also, open the Add-ons Manager and look for anything you didn't install.
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open the Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
