searching my inbox for "John" does not find emails from John sent in the last day or two. But searching on "Jo" (or may also "Joh" DOES find the recent emails. same for "Orland" -- finds recent email from Orlando, but adding the final letter to search on "Orlando" does not find the last email. I often rely on searching my inbox, especially by sender, so this is pretty scary.

go to options > Display >advanced and deselect the option to only show the display names from your address book.

My guess is your search is failing because the email address you are searching does not include the full details from your address book. See how they look with the option turned off. for example the email address is joh234@somewhere.com so Joh works but john does not.
