Firefox freezes whenever I'm on outlook.live.com. Tried everything; nothing fixes it.
Firefox freezes whenever I'm on outlook.live.com. Only way to close it is through Task Manager. Several Firefox apps are running in Task Manager whenever this happens. Also, sometimes I hear an ad playing in the background, but can't see it. It usually only plays for a second, then aborts itself.
I've run a malware and virus scan many times and everything is fine. I've disabled all plug-ins, but it that didn't work. I've reset Firefox and unistalled and reinstalled. I've done all sorts of things suggested in other posts, including doing stuff in about:config settings. Nothing has worked. It's frustrating. I have to use Opera for email now, and Firefox for everything else.
Can anyone help? This seemed to start after a Windows 10 upgrade. Thanks.

Hi, it seems to be an issue that only affects users who have turned off cleartype font rendering within their windows settings. So a workaround for the moment would either be to turn cleartype back on or disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox: Firefox's performance settings
It is possible the above, just covering it in case. Please report back if is the fix so can add the bug to this.
What stuff in about:config and did you revert the changes ????
I can not help you further until I know what has been done as these settings are saved in your profile a new profile would need to be made to revert the changes and that means reverting to stock.
Well try this : Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
then
TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:
If is your Profile :
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I did both these things, and so far it seems to have worked! It comes and goes, so it's hard to know if it's resolved for good, but fingers crossed! Thank you!
As for the about: config change, I don't recall what it was exactly; it was a suggestion I found on another thread on this forum relating to the same problem. I can't find it now. But, it didn't work, so I just switched it back. So, in the end, no change was made. :)
Thanks again for your help!
Actually, problem is back. Sigh. Will try your other suggestions. Thanks again.
