Double message delete with 1 click
When reading through emails I click (once) to delete the current selection and Thunderbird deletes 2. It happens at random with no pattern I can see. This is a problem I have had for at least 2 years and have seen it reported by others.

99% of the time this is due to a bad mouse or low battery on a wireless mouse. If you can select one message, press the delete key on your keyboard and only the 1 message is deleted, it is your mouse. Replacing the mouse has fixed it for all the others reporting this issue. Did you read those solutions?
That is not the case here. Mice and batteries are good. the problem is not consistent. It may happen at the beginning, middle or end of a session or not at all. It is definitely a single click on the delete button and 2 messages one of which is not highlighted go to the trash.
