When are these morons at Firefox are going to fix their garbage browser? I can log in to my gmail with IE, Edge, Chrome, Safari and any other browser out there. Only with STUPID FIREFOX I get Corrupted Content Error. I cleaned the cache, cleaned the cookies. It worked for one day. Today I get the same problem again! Still no support for session history! And they have not fixed the Session History problem for over the year, IDIOTS! Everyone should dump this stupid browser and go to any other, but this piece of garbage!!!!!

Hello ReallyBleepedOffUser69,

Would you consider updating Firefox to the latest version
(which is 64.0) instead of using words like "morons", "idiots"
and "garbage"  ?

more options

I will update when you get the Session History problem fixed and not a second sooner! My time is very valuable to spend it on restoring previous tabs that any other browser does just fine, except this piece of garbage!

What do you mean by "no support for session history"? Firefox has built-in session restore. Of course, there is only one level of built-in session restore, so if the problem is that you want to save multiple separate sessions, you need an add-on for that.

Which add-on are you referring to?

Would you take a look at this thread and see if maybe what solved the problem for that user will work for you as well :

Which one do you recommend I install that is not going to stop working with the next upgrade of your browser, as it happened with upgrade from v. 56 to 57?

FIrefox 57 was released 13 months ago and terminated ALL legacy extensions. That's not relevant any more. Now, it's a question of whether a developer is keeping up with users' feature demands in a competitive landscape.

I use the built-in feature, so I am not able to recommend one of these for you. You need to evaluate them for yourself.

I will note that Session Sync and MySessions store tabs in bookmarks, which Firefox backs up daily (to a local folder). That may be a more reliable form of storage than the ones that use a database file, since there's no recovery for a corrupted database file. On the other hand, some users find it annoying that their "Recent" bookmarks are a bunch of saved session tabs instead of what they bookmarked intentionally. Obviously it varies a lot whether a person cares about the Recent bookmarks list.

It says: "In your browser, go to about:serviceworkers" without saying how to get there, The search for "service worker" in "Options" shows 0 results.

No results for "serviceworker" either.

For all of the about: pages in Firefox, it's a similar approach, but that probably isn't obvious the first time:

Type or paste about:serviceworkers in the address bar and press Enter or Return to load that page.

I decided to follow your advice and installed v. 64 on one of my laptops. In v. 56, I was able to go to any bookmark, right-click on it, select "Properties" and enter notes related to this particular URL in the "Description" field. This was a very useful feature for many of the URLs I bookmarked. Now, in version 64, there is no more "Description" field! The geniuses-developers at Firefox just eliminated another feature that kept me from switching to Chrome or Opera, or whatever else is out there. It seems that Firefox is bent on eliminating its user base with every ingenious update they implement! Will go back to v.56 until it works, then switch to another browser! Bye-bye, Firefox!

Your advice allowed Gmail to load, thank you. Will I have to do it every day, after every restart? Gmail worked for one day after I cleared the cache. I will restart the computer tomorrow and see what happens with my Gmail access.

You've been away for a while!

Firefox 61 was the last version with a Descriptions box for bookmarks, and the data will be removed someday. Here are a couple of your choices:

(1) Use an add-on such as https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/bookmark-notes/ to collect notes on bookmarks and view them in the sidebar. It can import existing descriptions from the file created using this process: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks.

(2) Switch to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 60, also known as ESR. The ESR track was designed for companies that only want feature changes on an infrequent basis. So Firefox 60 ESR will only get security updates for the next 7 months, staying stable with the features of Firefox 60. Then ESR will jump to a new version, expected to be Firefox 68, so this is more of a stopgap measure than a permanent solution. (More info on this option: Switch to Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) for personal use.)

It must be confusing having two people given you advice, so I'll make myself scarce and leave you in the capable hands of "jscher2000".

(I'm glad that you got Gmail to load again ... ! )
