Hello. Previously I found the information to, in the config editor, set these. The first two I manually set, the last two are as per their respective default setting:

network.protocol-handler.warn-external.http;true network.protocol-handler.warn-external.https;true network.protocol-handler.external-default;true network.protocol-handler.warn-external-default;true

This worked, I got the question, and chose Chromium, but I also ticked to remember the choice.

Given that, I can't figure out how to change it once more, because now I don't get the dialogue anymore, to be able to choose again, it always open inline links in Chromium, no matter what the settings in config-editor, and no matter what my default browser is on the system itself. I don't have a mime type for http, nor for https, under incoming attachment either.

Thunderbird Version: 60.7.2 (64-bit) OS: Linux Mint, Tessa, 19.1, XFCE4-version

Any ideas appreciated. Best Regards, /Dennis

Hello again, I somewhat "Solved" the issue. I uninstalled Firefox and Chromium, specifically Chromium I expect, and clicked an email inline link. The question now popped up, and I chose Vivaldi. To boot, I also now, this time, got a content-type entry under attachments, which wasn't present before, nor did it populate that list first time I chose an alternative from the dialogue.

delete the setting in the config editor, or set them to default and restart Thunderbird.

Many thank you for the reply, unfortunately, I already tested this, to no avail. I reset the settings, restarted, links still open in Chromium, despite it not being the system default browser. Changing back to true, hoping to get a new question, still opens inline links in Chromium.

So the setting is sticky, once chosen, it would seem, and I can't find where thunderbird stores the "Do this from now on" flag, for inline links.

In your computer system you have set up another browser as default eg: firefox. Have you checked the browser eg: Firefox settings as well? Set browser as default in the browser itself?

Hadn't checked that properly, but have now, and it's the same thing. Inline links are stuck with opening everything in Chromium, no matter what settings I seem to try. The somewhat not-so-funny thing is that from within Firefox, it itself says ... "Firefox is currently your default browser", along side a big smiley, which it clearly isn't, I have Vivaldi set to being the default, so something is amiss. If I can't find where the system/Thunderbird, "remembers" the Do this from now on-checkbox, I suppose I can always try to remove all browsers, save one, and see what happens. :)
