Hi,

is there a way to de-sync the loggin from Gmail and Google search ? I don't want to be logged in on any web search using Google search engine, while at the same time I'd like to keep me logged in in Gmail webpage.

If I log out from Google search page, then I get automatically logged out from Gmail. Quite annoying.

Thanks

Best thing I could think of is using private mode to google search and maintaining your login for gmail on your non private window.

Thanks. So, you mean there is no way directly in Firefox, right ?

Hmm. you might be able to replicate this behavior with containers https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multi-account-containers/

And set one to have no google sign in (for google.com) and another with a gmail sign in?

Hi nicolas.guibourg, it's about the Google cookies.

All regular windows share one cookie jar, and all private windows share a second cookie jar. So the first suggestion was to use a private window for your logged-out searching. Unfortunately, that imposes the cost that results links also will want to open in private windows, which is a problem if you want to retain that history.

If you need additional cookie jars in regular windows, then look at containers as mentioned in the third reply.

Seems to work perfectly !!! Thanks so much evhenry.
