keeping email addresses not in contacts, nor in email, where ?
Hello, I search an email address in an email I thought having kept because the address is nowhere in the address book. The search was done with the name of the person. Firefox presented the right address but indicates that no email are stored for that address. If there is no email and no contact in the address book, where Firefox kept this address ? Is there a secret storage of information not accessible to the user ? Thanks for your help,

Firefox is an Internet browser. This forum is for support of the email client Thunderbird. Two completely separate and different softwares.
If you just do not have the name correct and are asking about Thunderbird, there are at least two default address books. The Personal and the Collected books. You enter contacts to the Personal book and the Collected book saves addresses to all contacts you have ever sent an email to.
There is no "secret" storage. You have access to all address books.
Thunderbird Help/Ask the Community redirects to this Mozilla Community Support for all products where I chose Thunderbird as you can see in the grey headband above. Thank you to recall Firefox is an internet browser. The email address found by Thunderbird was not in the collected addresses nor in any address books. I checked and did a research in the address book (which includes collected address).
Yes and at the top of the forum it says Thunderbird. It is not that hard to name the software you are asking about. Good luck with your issue.
If you searched for an address with Global Search (Ctrl+K) and found a spurious result, it could be due to the search index not being up to date. Rebuild the index and see if it changes the result.
