Why does the wpt (world poker tour) web site repeatedly cause my firefox browser to (i) operate slowly, then, (ii) crash?
I log in to the wpt web site. Then, I begin to play games there. Then, eventually, my browser functionality starts to slow down appreciably. Then, eventually, my firefox browser crashes completely. Then, I need to re-start my entire computer system. Then, when I re-start my entire system, I get a report that my firefox browser crashed. Then, I repeat the same process, again and again ... with no improvement from my firefox browser. It is an extremely frustrating situation. Any help you can provide for me would be highly appreciated.

- How to clear the Firefox cache {web link}
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?
While you are in safe mode;
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

A 'shutdownhang' is caused when Firefox has problems or takes too long when closing. Bug 1356853 talk is about having Firefox take too long to clear the cache.
Try this: Location of the cache/cache2 folder; Windows: *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\ Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/ Linux: ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/
Close Firefox. Open your file browser to the above, and remove the folder.
