Hello,

Running firefox on desktop Mac (Mac OS 10.14.6... don't laugh). Firefox works great on all sites except any google site.

Whether its google search, or attempting to log in to a Google account, it instantly and consistently crashes firefox.

I've tried: - Restarting in debug mode - Updated to latest version of FF - Deleting completely and re-installing FF - Restarting computer - Clearing all cookies and site data & Cached web content

Google sites work fine in Chrome on same computer.

Crash log is saying "Crash Reason EXC_BAD_ACCESS / KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS". Not a clue what to do with this error? Searched around, but didn't have any luck.

I'm not very familiar with Mac crash reports, but that might be similar to memory violation in Windows. It makes me suspicious.

Could you:

(1) Run a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. There is free trial of their regular version or a completely free version with fewer features.

(2) Change your connection setting to bypass any proxy. Either:

You can check that here:

  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Settings (or is it still "Preferences"?)
  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Settings (previously "Options")
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Settings (or is it still "Preferences"?)
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the search box at the top of the page, type proxy and Firefox should filter to the "Settings" button, which you can click.

Near the top of the panel, select "No proxy". Then use OK at the bottom to save the change.

Any difference?

Thanks for the tips.

1) I ran Malwarebytes and it found 0 issues at all.

2) I did have "use system proxy" as the proxy settings. I switched this to "No Proxy" but the issue still remains.

I appreciate the help, but it didn't seem to be either of those two things.
