I updated to the newest version, it requires a restart to finish, tried repeatedly, but always takes to requires restart, how to fix?
After downloading FF latest version which requires restart to finish, the new vs. just will not load. Everytime I try to open the FF Icon, I get the same restart required window. My PC runs WinXP, XP suggested the following:
Resolutions 1. Register the following files Click Start. Choose Run. In the Run box, type regsvr32 Softpub.dll. Click OK. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the following files: Wintrust.dll, Initpki.dll, Mssip32.dll.
For more information on this issue and alternate resolution please click on the Microsoft Knowledge Base link below.
First command was fine, the remaining 3 all open up FireFox popup window requiring restart.
it appears the FF update damaged or failed to load these dll links.
how do i fix it? I hate having to use IE.

thanks mha, but that did not work, the search never found the any xpicleanup.dat files. also, i am familiar with the please close any open files to complete the install, but this time I never got that prompt ("may" explain why the search did not locate any clenup.dat files).
