What should I do to keep icons from disappearing from the navigation toolbar every few days? These are icons I dragged to the toolbar from the Customize screen.

I have several icons on the navigation toolbar that I dragged from the Customize screen. Every few days these icons disappear. In order to get them back, I have to drag them again from the Customize screen. How can I keep this from happening? I'm using Firefox 8.0.1, but the same thing happened in earlier versions.
