Firefox 11 "Updates" Destroy Settings
I have been using FF since its beginnings. What annoys me recently, and REALLY ANNOYS ME, is:
1) Not only the frequent crashes and apologies accordingly
but now --
2) With the Update from FF10 to FF11 - all my settings are scrambled, tabs open chaotically - basically wherever the heck they please ...
It's 2:10 am and now I am faced with the daunting task of readjusting my settings so they work as well with FF11 as I had them working with FF10.
Does Mozilla issue these updates at such a frenetic pace just to give us something to do for their Big Oops Upgrades??!! Trust me. I have enough to do without this on-going problem solving.

Hi,
Please check if this happens in a new profile. If it's okay, you can later copy the needed personal data from the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in another location separate from its files/folder. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings (Tools (Alt + T) > Options, and about:config ), and usually would also be empty of any Extensions and themes (Appearance) in Tools > Add-ons) and their settings. Also, a new profile would have no previous stored website data/settings etc., (Tools > Clear Recent History).
Wilfred, you are very kind, though most of what you said I already knew (no arrogance or condescension intended) - just too lazy to go about my elbow to get to my hand. For me the best lifesavers have been:
1) Xmarks 2) Session Manager - Superb! 3) Tab Mix Plus - which btw just solved my FF11 tab opening "confusion" 4) Keeping my add-ons to an absolute bare minimum (Limits memory usage and security breaches).
While I am being a PITA, do you know of any way of selecting and moving multiple tabs from one location on the toolbar to another.
Reason: when I am searching for answers to a computer problem on the net, for example, it is nothing for me to have 150-200 tabs open at the same time. Some of them of course are duplicates. Before I close the session, I:
1) Bookmark the important tabs 2) Close the unimportant tabs 3) Move tabs around for order on my Tab Toolbar
I don't like to leave more than 20-30 tabs open for Session Manager and Xmarks to record.
Please allow me to say once again, Wilfred for your expertise, kindness and time. It is people like you that make me such an ardent Netizen.
Maybe this extension helps:
