Latest Firefox 11.0 and Shockwave Flash 11.2.202.233 constantly crashing
In what seems like a relentless update/upgrade competition with the "other" browsers, Firefox 11 is NOW not playing nice with Shockwave Flash, or is it vice-versa. This didn't start happening until I "upgraded" to Firefox 11.0
YES, I've updated ALL the plugins (Who invented this plug-in hassle, anyway?), as is ABSOLUTELY required whenever Firefox goes through one of its myriad of updates/upgrades. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Flash, and my WinXP Pro is up-to-date. I haven't experienced this torrential headache with IE 8.0, OR before F-11.
Is there a Firefox 11.0.0.1.2.3.4 patch in-the-works, or do I have to consider one of the "others"? HELP ME!

Hello I really need your help. Tuesday I downloaded the new version of Adobe Flash Player for IE 11.2.202.233 and the plugin for Firefox and then the problems began.
Every time when I read a video or listen to music (youtube, dailymotion, musicMe, Grooveshark etc ...) and I let my scroll the mouse wheel, this jerk I can not do anything and firefox freezes. Then I looked on IE and I found that the problem was also present but less than firefox.
I already uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash player three times but the problem is still there. What to do?
Thanks Swarnava, but if you'll READ my problem, I've ALREADY done all that; it was the actual upgrade TO Firefox 11 - THAN having to update Flash afterwards - that is causing the problem.
I don't think I'm the only one experiencing this issue. I've been using Firefox since 1.0, and version 11 has been a headache.
Good luck zalout, because I believe Mozilla (i.e. Firefox) MIGHT be aware of the minor "problem", they just need to acknowledge that there IS a problem and do something before we all UNINSTALL in droves.
There IS a problem with Firefox 11 and Flash 11 playing nice together; it's just WHO'S problem is it. Works fine with IE 8 ...

Rouser thank you good luck to you too, could someone please help, this is really painful this problem. I even contacted Adobe but he did not answer.
The Flash plugin is crashing your browser, Firefox 8.0 still seems to work fine though.
Hello, does anyone found a solution to this problem ?
Sorry but what you have to provide answers to problems, because it becomes boring.
There's not going to be a solution to this problem, since apparently the problem doesn't exist.
We'll just have to wait for the next Firefox update (plus all the plugin updates that go along with it) before this issue "mysteriously" disappears. Cross your fingers ...
I thought it was just me. Couldn't get out of FF11 fast enough. Gone back to the old 'tried and true' 3.6.28. I also like steam and clockwork.
Today I received the updated Firefox 12, but the problem is still present.
I have been having this same problem, with both FF 11 and FF 12 - playing any kind of Flash content often (most of the time) resulted in FF locking up, forcing me to close it through CTRL-ALT-DEL. Flash worked fine in IE, and it also worked fine in FF Safe Mode. (Oddly, though, if I started FF NOT in safe mode, but with my extensions disabled, it didn't work - that one is a mystery to me.)
I tried older versions of both FF and Flash, tried turning off hardware acceleration, etc, but NOTHING worked. Yesterday I finally found a very simple solution that has worked for me (so far, knock wood).
1. Uninstall Flash and all components - including the FF plug-in.
2. Make sure that the following directory is empty: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
3. Reinstall Flash (I used an older version - Flash 10.3 from www.oldapps.com - just to be on the safe side)
Everything seems to be working smoothly in FF 12, and I have seen no need to turn off hardware acceleration. I am guessing that the problem was somewhere in the Macromed/Flash files, and deleting them cleared it up. At least for the time being.
Hope this helps someone!

The Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems article has a link to Adobe's Flash uninstaller that will take you to the Adobe article on uninstalling Flash: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
After running the Flash uninstaller (you must have all other applications closed) and deleting any leftover Flash files (as explained in Adobe's article) you can then either
- Install the latest Flash plugin from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ or from the link on this page
- If you need Flash 10, you can use this link for the Flash 10 plugin installer: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_10_plugin.exe

Yep, same here. Since updating to Flash 11.2 I'm getting Firefox crashes once, twice a day. Before that I never had Firefox crash on me.
I'm sorry mdlark1966 and AliceWyman, but ... this ... fixed ... absolutely ... NOTHING! No joy.
Followed ALL the instructions to the letter, but the only other browser I have installed (IE, of course ...) continues to run Flash content beautifully. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Firefox 11, er, um, Firefox 12! Pissed-Off to no end isn't a state I appreciate being in, ESPECIALLY when Firefox and Flash have worked just fine together in the past.
I hail from the Netscape days (yeah, I'm almost that old), so it's not like I haven't dealt with a few train wrecks ... so, COME ON Mozilla, FIX THIS!
Sorry to hear that, Rouser. I keep waiting for mine to go all wonky on me again, but so far I've had no problems since applying this fix. Did you try safe mode? I still find it odd that I had no problems in safe mode, but when starting FF normally with the extensions disabled, the problem reappeared. Curious to hear if anyone else has experienced that.
You're right - Mozilla needs to get on this very basic (and, by all appearances, all too common) problem before they rush out yet another update. Ignoring the constant calls for help isn't exactly endearing users to them, and has almost driven me away from FF as my browser of choice for many years.
@rouser do the crashes happen in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode too? you might also want to try adobes beta version of flash 11.3 http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11-3.html to see if the crashes persist
Flash 11.3 Beta is a pre-release test version that may introduce new problems (examples here and here) so I wouldn't suggest trying it.
It might help if you posted a link to a web page where you see the error, Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again ... assuming that's the error you get. If Firefox 12 is crashing (you see the Mozilla Crash Reporter or Firefox simply closes unexpectedly)) , please post a crash report ID - See Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly), which also suggests trying Firefox Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode (as madperson suggests).
If you already tried down-grading to Flash 10 and you still see plugin crashes, it may be a problem with hardware acceleration, which you can turn off in your Flash settings - see Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems. Same problem, it all worked fine after installing an older version of flash again but today FF decided to disable it and not show it in the plug in page so i can't even enable it again if i wanted to. Quite annoying that a piece of software decides what you can and can't use...

(The same applies to zalout, guniu, and others having problems with Flash 11.2 and Firefox 12)
You may be better off starting a new thread, since your issue might be different depending on your Operating System, Firefox version, installed plugins and other system details, which will be shown if you ask a new question.
