Installer starts, then quits, even as administrator? Deleted because of spyware. Any ideas?

I was getting garbage popups left and right of most websites. I use multiple browsers for various reasons. Had same problem with Chrome. Uninstalled, reinstalled, and they went away. With Mozilla, when I try to reinstall even as admin, the app opens in Task Manager for 2-3 seconds then shuts down. It never gives me the usual install choices. It seems clear to me that something is blocking the install.

I have shut off firewall and av software, no better. PS - I have same popup issue in IE which I rarely use.

Any ideas?

If you downloaded the installer with "stub" in the name, try using the "full" installer from the following page (scroll down to your language):

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
