Showing sub folders when hovering
I used to click on 'bookmarks' in the toolbar then skim down to the folder within, hover & it would show sub-folders. Now I have to click on the folder to show sub folders within. I have a folder in my bookmarks 'computers & the internet' in there I have other folders ('forums', 'freebies', 'graphics', 'updates', 'tips', 'prices') each of those has urls to websites. Before I could just go straight to a web address, now I have to click 'computers & internet', then click 'forums' to get to the 3 or 4 forums I frequent. Then click on the forum as usual to open it. Have I changed something, or has Firefox changed something?

OK, I bit the bullet & set Firefox back to basics, factory settings. It kept all my bookmarks, etc., & now it works the way I want it too again.

Are you by any chance opening the bookmarks sidebar and not clicking the bookmarks menu button?
- View > Sidebar > Bookmarks
There are two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu (you may not see the drop marker in the Customize window).
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.
- Firefox menu button > Options > Toolbar Layout
- View > Toolbars > Customize
I do not have a sidebar. I have a toolbar accroos the top of Firefox:- 'File' - 'Edit' - 'Histoy' - 'Bookmarks' - 'Tools' - 'Help' Click on 'Bookmarks' menu drops down. I used to put the cursor on 'compter & internet' and the sub folders would pop out, now I have to click on it. I want to get back to 'point & it opens'
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
Found safe mode, didn't make any difference, still have to click every step of the way. Thanks for trying, and for all your answers, I suppose I could uninstall Firefox completely & start from scratch, but then I loose all my bookmarks. Last time I did it, it was a pain in the proverbial because of the new format for bookmarks.
