I’ve created a Mozilla account. What can I do with it?

First of all, thanks for signing up! We created a page to help you understand and make the most of all the great features your Mozilla account has to offer: Access Mozilla services with a Mozilla account.

I’m having trouble verifying my Mozilla account

When you sign up for a Mozilla account or if your sign in is blocked for security reasons, we will send you an email to confirm that you own the email address connected to the account. This page will help you with verification issues: I'm having problems confirming my Mozilla account.

If you’re still unable to sign in or verify your account, try creating another Mozilla account with a different email address.

I received an email from Mozilla accounts. What should I do?

Mozilla account sends various emails for security purposes and to help guide your experience. You might receive the following emails:

“Verification code” email

When you receive an email from Mozilla accounts with a six-digit verification code, you must enter the 6-digit verification code on the sign-in page to confirm your account. You may receive a verification code email when you first sign up for a new Mozilla account, or if you sign out and later sign back in to your Mozilla account.

“New sign-in to Firefox” email

You may receive a “New sign-in to Firefox” email with a Manage account button that links to the Mozilla account settings page.

This can happen when you sign in to an existing Mozilla account using a new device or profile. If you are not sure why you received this email, we recommend that you reset your Mozilla account password and also change your email password.

“Finish creating your account” email

This email means someone created an account with your email address. If it was you, then please confirm your email.

If you are not sure, then do not click the Confirm email link in the Mozilla accounts email. If you confirmed the email by accident, then you should reset the Mozilla account password to avoid security issues.

“Secondary email added” email

You receive an email with a verification code to confirm your secondary email. After entering the code in the verification section, you'll receive a notification in your primary email alerting you that a secondary email has been added to your Mozilla account.

How do I change my Mozilla account password?

You can change your password from the Mozilla account settings page by following these steps:

  1. (In Firefox for desktop) Click the menu button Fx89menuButton to open the menu panel.
  2. Click your Mozilla account name or email address (or click Sign in).
  3. Click Manage Account
  4. On the Mozilla account page, scroll down to the Security section and click the Change button next to Password.
  5. Follow the steps to enter your old and new passwords, then click Save to finish.

I don't know my password. How can I set a new password?

If you don't know or forgot your password, you will have to reset your Mozilla account (see below).

How do I reset my Mozilla account?
