Actually, I did learn to do it, but https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-menu-icon-missing-android-how-access-menu didn't list the final option.

This page should recommend long presses on the available (actually hardware or not) buttons.

For instance, on my device (Acer Liquid S1/S510, depending on the area), seen here: http://dash.coolsmartphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Acer-Liquid-S1-Pic141.jpg the bottom right button of each device, looking like a superposed rectangle, that brings up a carousel-like application selection overlay, can be long-pressed to bring up said menu.

Still, for people not content with this, such a fundamental accessibility thing should be configurable. As the device manufacturers are unlikely to all adopt this, firefox looks like the most likely place to fix the behaviour, e.g. by something in about:config.

hi kurosu, actually our knowledge base is like a wiki. if you sign up as a contributor at https://support.mozilla.org/get-involved/kb there will be an "edit article" field next to any help article that you can use in case you see any information that is missing or needs to be updated.

thank you :))

Thanks Philip.

The remaining part (Firefox menu button being displayed also depending on a configuration option) is then probably better in a ticket in the bugtracker.

i agree that a preference in about:config to display the 3-dot menu button that one can manually control would be a very nice thing to have. you could file an enhancement bug in the "firefox for android" product on bugzilla.mozilla.org or simply leave feedback on https://input.mozilla.org/feedback.
