My opening page for Firefox has changed to "Ask" and I want to go back to what I had.
When I used to click on the Firefox icon to open my browser, a mage came up with the Firefox icon and a search window. Starting earlier today, it now opens with a whole bunch of other choices which do not interest me in the slightest! Please help me to get back to the way it was.

You have a malicious add-on that installed itself into Firefox (or tricked you into installing it). The name is package tracer.
To fully remove this, let's do a refresh of Firefox. Follow the directions at Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
After that, please follow the directions at How to set the home page and Use the Search bar in Firefox and manage search engines to use the search engine and home page that you want to.
