Firefox, recently installed on WP professional to replace antique IE 8, won't print from the print icon. It'll print no problem from the menu bar so it's not a problem with the printer or in the page settings (ie it's not set print to file).

Do you get anything when you hit the Print toolbar button? It should open the Print Preview window, where there is a Print button in the upper left corner.

How about when you use { Ctrl + P }? Do you get the "native print dialog" window where you select the printer that you want to use?

Thanks for this. If I click the toolbar Print button, I get print preview which of course enables me to print but I had hoped to have a one click option rather than via Preview.

Cntrl P does produce the native print dialogue, but again it's a two step process.

Firefox was changed a few versions ago to open Print Preview from the Print button - that's the way it is now. I filed a Bug concerning regression about it, because it doesn't permit printing a "selection" of text as it did before; but no action to correct that regression has been taken.

For now you'll need to use the keyboard command or install an extension like Print Edit or Print / Print Preview which offer separate "print" menu items. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=print&appver=37.0&platform=windows
